Worlds Largest Swimming Pool: A Theme Thursday Post
The swimming pool at the San Alfonso del Mar resort at Algarrobo, Chile is 19 acres and holds the Guiness World Record for World's largest swimming pool.
Whoa! I wanna go. It reminds me of my honeymoon in South Beach Miami when the hotel clerk said "Who needs a pool when you have THIS???" (indicating the ocean)
Is it real? I've had this sent to me by email a few times and thought it was photoshopped. Why would anyone want such an enormous pool, directly adjacent to a beautiful beach? (Actually all I can think about is how much chlorine they'll need to keep it so clear - my pool resembles a duck pond at the moment!)

HOLY MOLY! I have never seen anything like this. You could get lost in that pool. I wonder how many life guards it takes to field a 19 acre pool?
OMG!!!
I want to swim in it now! Thank you for adding...one more destination to my long "places to go" list lol
xoxo

I have seen this before, and am still amazed by it. I wondered if people sometimes forget they are even in a pool. Very cool.
hahaha! awesome!! (don't they have beaches in Chile?)
That's simply amazing.
That's just craziness. How do they keep it clean? It's fully chlorinated? That's a lot of chemical. That's just crazy. It's CRAZY I say, crazy.
It's crazy.
Craziness.
Why do they need a pool just steps from the ocean!?
Wow that is really cool! That would be alot of fun swimming in there.
Cool!!! I thought for sure the World's Largest Pool would be in Dubai...
i could spend a year there and never get bored...just sunburnt.
LOL! That's just awesome.
I want one!
Debo Hobo: Yes, I would have thought Dubai, known for excess, would have the world's largest pool too! What slackers.
Tuttut: I think the pool is warmer than the ocean. Maybe you can't swim in the ocean there.
Please tell me you where there and swam in that pool and in the ocean. If not then you have to tell me you're going there soon. It looks amazing.
That's really something. It would be interesting to travel there just to see that pool.
I really need to renew my passport.
Re: "My May Day Family Tradition." I am still laughing at your comment. Carpe May! Carpe 'Going-a-Maying.'

un-fucking-believable. not sure whether to marvel at this or think what a waste of water with the ocean right there.
